Cookie Policy
Effective date: 12 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies StopBouncing uses, why, and what this means for you.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work or to provide information to the website owner.
2. Cookies we use
StopBouncing uses one cookie:
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Secure-authjs.session-token | Keeps you logged in to your account. Contains a cryptographically signed session token. | Strictly necessary | 30 days (reset on login) |
This cookie is set only when you log in. It is:
- HttpOnly — cannot be accessed by JavaScript, protecting against cross-site scripting attacks.
- Secure — only transmitted over HTTPS.
- SameSite=Lax — not sent on cross-site requests, protecting against cross-site request forgery.
3. Cookies we do NOT use
We do not use:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Plausible, etc.)
- Advertising or retargeting cookies (Meta Pixel, Google Ads, etc.)
- Third-party tracking cookies of any kind
- Preference cookies beyond what is strictly necessary for the service
4. Theme preference
Our dark/light mode toggle stores your preference in your browser’s localStorage, not in a cookie. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
5. Do I need to accept cookies?
Because we only use one strictly necessary cookie, no cookie banner or consent mechanism is required under EU law (Directive 2002/58/EC, as amended, and the Dutch Telecommunications Act). Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement because they are essential for the service to function.
If you log in to StopBouncing, the session cookie is placed on your device as part of authentication. You can delete this cookie at any time by logging out or clearing your browser’s cookies.
6. How to control or delete cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that deleting the session cookie will log you out of StopBouncing. For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, visit your browser’s help section or allaboutcookies.org.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce additional cookies, we will update this policy and, where required by law, obtain your consent before doing so.
